## Description

The Australian Historical Association (AHA) is Australia’s peak national organisation for historians working across all fields of history. Founded in 1973, it represents more than 900 members through an Executive Committee drawn from across the country. The association promotes quality and integrity in historical practice and advocates on issues affecting the history profession in Australia.

The AHA supports historians through membership resources, professional development and opportunities to share research. Its activities include workshops, seminars, teaching and learning resources, and support for postgraduate students and early career researchers. It also offers grants, fellowships, scholarships, conference bursaries and a range of awards recognising achievement in historical research and writing.

The association hosts an annual conference, bringing historians together to present research and discuss issues relevant to the discipline and wider communities. Its official journal, History Australia, is published by Taylor & Francis and aims to reflect the concerns and research of historians who make, teach and apply history, particularly in Australia.
