## Description

American Journalism Project is a venture philanthropy organization dedicated to rebuilding and sustaining local news. In an era where local journalism is facing significant threats, they are on a mission to empower communities and preserve democracy through the revitalization of local news. Recognizing the crucial role of local journalism in keeping communities informed and holding the powerful accountable, American Journalism Project invests in and builds digital nonprofit newsrooms. These newsrooms are not only governed by and sustained by the communities they serve but also reflect the diversity of those communities. Their portfolio includes a new generation of digital, nonprofit news models that are filling the information gap left by the decline of traditional news outlets. They aim to not just rebuild what was lost but also to reimagine local news to better serve all communities. Join the American Journalism Project and be part of the movement to rebuild and sustain local news, an essential pillar of democracy. Stay connected, get involved, and help shape the future of local journalism.
