## Description

Theatron MusikSommer is Munich’s free annual open-air music festival, bringing the city’s musical diversity to the setting beside the Olympiasee. The event showcases performers from Munich and the surrounding region, with a programme designed for music fans, visitors and families. Its outdoor atmosphere and varied performances make it a gathering place for people of different ages and backgrounds.

The 2026 festival was scheduled to run from 31 July to 22 August, with performances generally beginning at 7 p.m. and selected morning events. The programme also introduced a morning offering and a children’s performance by Sternschnuppe. Alongside concerts, the festival features supporting activities, including an interactive walkabout appearance by Ingrid Irrlicht, whose “Secret of the Happy Owl” invites children to guess the owl’s name and talk about happiness.

Theatron MusikSommer is presented with partner support and organized in collaboration with other participants. The website provides programme information, event listings, FAQs and an archive. Applications for the 2027 edition are requested by 1 March 2027.
