## Description

The Austin Common is a local news and civic information site serving Austin, Texas. Formerly known as the Austin EcoNetwork, it aims to help residents stay informed and find practical ways to make a difference in their community. Its coverage includes local news articles, with new stories added weekly and an emphasis on community engagement and opportunities to get involved. The site also offers accessible election guides, including resources to help residents understand local races, ballot propositions, and voting dates.

Beyond news, The Austin Common connects people with Austin’s civic life through a community calendar featuring events from local nonprofits and advocacy groups. Its resources include a podcast, quizzes, civic guides, and a listing of sustainability and civic-minded jobs. The organization also highlights volunteer opportunities and publishes its weekly email newsletter, The Weekly Common, with a concise overview of what to know for the week ahead. Readers can support the publication by joining The Common Club, a supporters’ network offering special perks and programming, and can explore advertising and partnership opportunities. The Austin Common brings local information, community connections, and civic action together for Austinites.
