## Description

The British Columbia Review, formerly known as The Ormsby Review, is an esteemed online journal dedicated to showcasing the rich literary and cultural tapestry of British Columbia. Established in 2016, the journal reviews an extensive array of books written by BC authors, encompassing genres such as fiction, poetry, memoirs, and political commentary, with an emphasis on local and Indigenous history. Under the editorial guidance of Richard Mackie and a dedicated team, the British Columbia Review offers insightful, accessible reviews and essays without paywalls, ensuring a broad reach and inclusivity.

The platform not only highlights works from established publishers but also champions self-published authors and those represented by non-BC publishing houses. Engaging with local communities and literary professionals, the review covers diverse voices and perspectives, including a strong focus on Indigenous literature. Situated in East Vancouver, the journal honors the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples, reflecting its commitment to cultural accountability and representation in the arts.
