Named after legendary linebacker Dick Butkus, the award recognizes not only athletic excellence but also a commitment to community service. In 2008, The Butkus Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, assumed responsibility for the award, ensuring its mission continues to inspire young athletes to give back to their communities. Every year, a dedicated selection committee comprising 51 experts—including scouts and sports journalists—evaluates candidates and determines the recipients of this esteemed honor. The award celebrates the achievements of players who excel on the field as well as their contributions off it, fostering a sense of responsibility among winners to uplift others. With its rich history and commitment to recognizing top talent, the Butkus Award remains a gold standard in football, symbolizing both excellence in play and in character. ## Industries - 🏈 Sports - 🏈 American Football _(under Sports)_ ## Links - [facebook](https://facebook.com/51.butkus) ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idiWN4lJ2Y/w/225/h/100/theme/light/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1722972682902) - icon _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idiWN4lJ2Y/w/1454/h/1454/theme/dark/icon.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1722972683358) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Mojo | #bf4f37 | accent | | Firefly | #0b162a | dark | | White | #ffffff | light | ## Fonts - var(--global-heading-font-family) — asset _(custom)_ - var(--global-body-font-family) — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
