The Charles River Conservancy (CRC) is a nonprofit organization established in 2000. They work in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (MassDCR) and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to enhance the Charles River and its surrounding parks. The CRC envisions a future where the river and its parks are vibrant hubs of public life.

Their mission is to create a well-maintained network of natural urban spaces that engage and invite everyone to use and care for them. The CRC has four key goals: cultivating active engagement with the river, defining the parks as platforms for community and cultural life, advocating through research and placemaking, and ensuring long-term organizational sustainability. They achieve these goals by working through partnerships, harnessing the community, and implementing impactful pilot projects.
