## Description

The CROWN Act, which stands for Create a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair, is a brand dedicated to ending discrimination based on race-based hairstyles. Established in 2019, The CROWN Act ensures protection against hair discrimination in the workplace and public schools by extending statutory protection to hair texture and protective styles such as braids, locs, twists, and knots. Led by the CROWN Coalition, founded by Dove, National Urban League, Color Of Change, and Western Center on Law & Poverty, The CROWN Act has gained support from federal and state legislators, sparking a nationwide movement to end hair bias and discrimination. The Act has been introduced and passed in several states, with the goal of achieving protection against hair discrimination nationwide. The CROWN Coalition, along with its supporting members, including organizations like the NAACP, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and the Black Women's Roundtable, is dedicated to advancing anti-discrimination legislation and raising awareness about this crucial issue. Join The CROWN Act movement and help create a respectful and inclusive world for natural hair by emailing your legislator and signing the petition. Together, we can put an end to hair discrimination.
