## Description

The Flea is a New York City arts organization and performance venue dedicated to supporting experimental work by Black, brown, and queer artists. Its programming brings audiences into contact with inventive theatre and live experiences, while its artist-focused initiatives create opportunities to develop and present new work. The Flea’s offerings include resident company support, production commissions, and space grants, alongside a calendar of performances and events.

The 2026 season features projects including The Tune Up!, GREY ARIAS, Juneteenth 2026, and Beyond the Stardust. Conceived by Flea Artistic Director Niegel Smith and The Illustrious Blacks, Beyond the Stardust is an immersive club musical with original songs, visual elements, and performers including aerialists and dancers. The organization also rents its theaters and event spaces for performances, rehearsals, film shoots, meetings, and other uses. Designed with artists in mind, these spaces support collaboration and creative experimentation at different stages of production. Through its programming, artist opportunities, rentals, and community updates, The Flea connects artists, audiences, and supporters around new work.
