## Description

The Gauntlet is the University of Calgary’s independent, student-run newspaper, published by the Gauntlet Publications Society. Reporting on campus and the wider Calgary community since 1960, it serves as a source of information and analysis and an independent voice for students. Its journalism is created by students for students and is available through its website and a print edition, including a current online issue.

The Gauntlet covers campus news, city news, arts and culture, features, research, opinions and sports. Its stories address university life, student services and policy, local events, Alberta issues, technology, research and the arts. Readers can also find editor’s picks, featured print articles and coverage of student groups and activities. Alongside news and commentary, the publication offers advertising opportunities and invites people to explore staff hiring and volunteer opportunities. Through reporting, analysis and cultural coverage, The Gauntlet connects students with developments affecting their university and community while providing a platform for student perspectives.
