## Description

The Genealogist is a family history research service dedicated to helping people discover their ancestors and build a clearer picture of their family’s past. Its searchable collection spans records from 1127 to 2005, including census returns, birth, marriage and death records, parish and non-conformist registers, wills, directories, and military records. Users can explore census transcripts and images, records of service in the armed forces, and local documents that may reveal where ancestors lived and worked.

The site offers flexible research tools, including MasterSearch filters, address and keyword searches, family searches, and SmartSearch suggestions for related records. Map Explorer connects record entries with georeferenced historic maps, allowing users to compare past locations with modern maps and view map-based records such as tithe maps and the 1910 Lloyd George Domesday Survey. TreeView provides a family tree builder for recording relatives and creating charts and reports. The Genealogist offers subscription packages and a free 14-day trial, alongside research guides, video tutorials, articles, and customer support to help users at different experience levels.
