## Description

The Gout MD is a virtual care service focused on adults whose gout has been difficult to control. Patients begin with an online visit to discuss their symptoms, medical history and previous treatments with a clinician. The clinician reviews their needs and determines whether KRYSTEXXA (pegloticase) infusions and treatment at home may be appropriate. A flare alone does not necessarily mean infusions are needed.

For eligible patients, a nurse administers infusions at home, typically every two weeks, and monitors them during the visit. Care also includes virtual follow-up to help clinicians track treatment. KRYSTEXXA requires screening, blood tests, premedication and monitoring, and carries risks including serious allergic reactions; people with G6PD deficiency must not receive it. In-person evaluations or additional testing may be arranged when needed.

The Gout MD’s clinical program is led by co-founder and Medical Director Ariel Teitel, MD, MBA, a board-certified rheumatologist with more than 25 years of experience. The service offers virtual gout care, treatment planning and follow-up, with home infusions for patients who qualify.
