## Description

The Great Grey is a 21+ play-by-post creative writing role-playing game set in London during the late Victorian era. Its shared, text-based world is built around collaborative storytelling, character development, and a respectful community for adult players. The game’s setting is October 1889, where fogbound streets, social intrigue, whispered rumours, and masked gatherings provide a backdrop for ongoing stories.

Players can create and develop characters, join in-character scenes, and write personal pieces such as letters, diaries, and journals. The forum maps its fictional play across Central London, the West End, East and South London, North London, Greater London, and locations beyond the city. Dedicated resources support participation, including character and setting guides, a roster, claims and holds, historical references, posting guidelines, and newcomer information. Members can also take part in site events and challenges, follow announcements, and request staff assistance. For players seeking a change of setting, the community offers occasional alternate-universe forums, opened through member voting.
