## Description

Understanding the importance of reconciling with this dark past, The Hoya aims to bridge the physical and emotional distance between the university and the descendants of the enslaved men, women, and children who were sold to sustain it. With a dedicated team led by board of directors member Aly Pachter, The Hoya brings you the compelling stories of these descendants, shedding light on their experiences and the ongoing struggle for justice. Margo Snipe, Karla Leyja, Lisa Burgoa, Eliza Phillips, Derrick Arthur, Will Cromarty, Elizabeth Thomas, and Shepard Thomas contribute to this crucial project. Supported by the Fund for Investigative Journalism and SaxaFund, The Hoya's series Tracing the 272 offers an enriching and eye-opening read. Uncover the truth, contribute to the dialogue, and be part of Georgetown's journey towards reconciliation. Visit their website today to explore this thought-provoking series. Contact Aly Pachter for more information or to share your insights. Subscribe to their newsletter for the latest updates from The Hoya.
