## Description

The Hymn Society is a prominent organization dedicated to encouraging and promoting congregational singing in the United States and Canada. With a rich history dating back to 1922, The Hymn Society has been at the forefront of fostering supportive relationships, facilitating networking, and promoting ecumenical cooperation among congregational singers. Through their regular news publications and comprehensive web presence, they provide valuable information on events, activities, and recent developments in the realm of hymns and congregational singing. The Hymn Society also seeks to enliven congregational singing by offering experiences in performance practices to assist individuals in introducing and leading the congregation's song. They believe in the value of learning about the origins of the words and music that are sung, and they actively promote the writing and singing of new texts and tunes.
