## Description

THE LAP is an ultra-trail race offering runners and walkers the chance to circumnavigate Lake Windermere in England’s Lake District. The event covers approximately 72 kilometres, or 47 miles, on signposted trails and is designed as an accessible introduction to the 50-mile ultra distance, while also offering experienced racers a runnable route. Participants have up to 24 hours to complete the course and can choose from events run in opposite directions at different times of year.

To make the challenge more straightforward, THE LAP provides extensive route marking, a GPS tracker, a waterproof map and a GPX route file. Six stocked food and drink stations support participants along the way, and a halfway bag drop allows runners to access spare shoes. Every finisher receives a meal and a locally sourced medal. The event’s website brings together race entry, route details, kit guidance, results, FAQs and practical race-day information, including directions to the start.
