## Description

The Late Shows is an award-winning, free after-hours culture crawl held each May across Newcastle and Gateshead. It invites visitors to explore the area’s cultural venues and enjoy a varied programme of events after normal hours. The event brings together venues, volunteers, artists and local audiences, creating an opportunity to experience the region’s cultural scene in a lively, accessible way. Organised annually, The Late Shows shares its event line-ups and news online, and keeps past programmes available for visitors to browse after each edition has finished. The 2026 event took place on 8 and 9 May, with the next edition planned for 2027. The website also provides information about commissioned artistic projects and updates on upcoming events. Visitors can join the mailing list to receive news and announcements, browse previous events, or donate to help secure the future of The Late Shows. Co-ordinated with the support of sponsors and partners, the event is a prominent fixture in Newcastle and Gateshead’s cultural calendar.
