About

Description

The Latina Center is a brand dedicated to improving the physical, mental, and spiritual health of Latina women and their families in the Bay Area, specifically in West Contra Costa County. Over the past 15 years, The Latina Center has evolved and grown, providing support and opportunities for Latina women. The organization started with the Mujer, Salud y Liderazgo (MSL) program, which aimed to bring Latina women together to build peer support and increase community opportunities.

MSL has since developed into a one-year leadership development and community service program, with over 420 women graduating as Peer Leaders. The Latina Center empowers Latina leaders to be agents of social change, with their programs integrated into the community. They offer parenting classes, support for victims of family violence, small business training, access to microloans, and more.

The organization's graduates are actively involved in the organization as staff, volunteers, and board members. The Latina Center is known for its heart, warmth, love, empathy, and respect shown by its staff and volunteers. They provide a supportive and understanding family-like environment for those who seek their services.

The Latina Center appreciates the financial support and donations from various sources, including foundations, individual donors, private businesses, and government agencies. They are grateful for the community leaders who embrace the ideal of service above self. Be a part of The Latina Center and contribute to their important social work
