## Description

The Laurence Trust is a Northern Ireland organisation supporting men affected by eating disorders and the families, friends, and carers who care about them. Founded in 2012 by Pamela Nugent after the death of her son Laurence, the Trust aims to raise awareness and help prevent similar tragedies. It provides a safe, compassionate space for people seeking information and support.

The Trust offers an information line, online guidance, educational resources, and help identifying where to seek further assistance, including medical care. Its resources explain eating disorders, symptoms and causes, warning signs, and different types of illness, with a particular focus on how eating disorders affect men. The organisation also shares personal stories and provides information for carers, crisis support signposting, and recommended reading.

Through volunteers, awareness activities, events, and sponsored workshops, The Laurence Trust connects vulnerable people with appropriate support and encourages understanding that recovery help is available. Its information line operates daily from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 07510 371 335.
