## Description

Legends Marathon is a Ugandan road-running event organized by Impact Sport to celebrate the country’s sporting heroes and use sport to create positive social impact. Guided by the theme “Run For Your Legend,” the marathon welcomes elite and recreational runners, institutions, young people, and communities to take part in 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km races. Its next edition is scheduled for Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Kyambogo Cricket Oval in Kampala. The event has been added to Uganda Athletics’ National Calendar, reflecting its place in the country’s sanctioned athletics programme.

Beyond the race, Legends Marathon supports Beyond The Finish, Impact Sport’s athlete empowerment initiative. The programme helps active and retired athletes prepare for life beyond competition through career-transition support, entrepreneurship and financial-literacy training, mental-health activities, wellness, and storytelling. In 2025, forty athletes took part in training delivered with the Stanbic Business Incubator and Safe Places. By bringing together runners, sports figures, and partners, the brand honours personal and national sporting legacies while promoting athlete welfare and longer-term opportunities.
