## Description

The Wintrust Magnificent Mile Lights Festival is a beloved holiday celebration that has been shining bright for over 30 years. Taking place on Saturday, November 18, 2023, in downtown Chicago, this festival marks the official kick-off of the holiday season. Each year, the trees along North Michigan Avenue are beautifully illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere that captures the holiday spirit. One of the highlights of the Lights Festival is a book and postcard series that showcases the rich history of this cherished event. Written by Executive Producer Ellen S. Farrar, the book titled The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival takes readers on a journey through time, from a 67-foot Christmas Tree adorned with 1,500 lights in Water Tower Park in 1949 to the present day. It shares fascinating stories of how celebrities like Betty Grable and Betty Hutton played a part in the lighting ceremony. Celebrate the magic of the Lights Festival and immerse yourself in the vibrant history of this holiday tradition. Join in the festive experiences along The Magnificent Mile and create lasting memories with loved ones.
