## Description

The Master’s House is a historic community and heritage destination at the heart of Ledbury, where it has played a central role in local life for more than 500 years. Originally built as a home for the Masters of St Katherine’s Hospital, the building reflects the changes made by generations of occupants. A major restoration and redevelopment between 2011 and 2015 prepared it to serve the town once again as a community facility and the home of Ledbury’s Library.

Visitors can explore the building’s history through information about its former residents, key historical figures and restoration, as well as local oral histories in the Community Resource Area. The house also hosts events and activities, and offers heritage gifts. The Friends of The Master’s House, a volunteer group, promote the site’s history and provide regular guided tours, including private and public visits. The website shares visitor information, news and details of what’s on, while also highlighting other organisations based in the building, including the John Masefield Society, Victoria County History and Age UK Hereford & Localities.
