## Description

The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center is a nonprofit arts organization in Waterford, Connecticut, dedicated to developing new works and emerging voices for American theater. Known as a “launchpad of American theater,” it brings playwrights, composers, performers, puppeteers, and other theater professionals together through conferences, programs, and residencies. Its offerings include the National Playwrights Conference, National Music Theater Conference, National Puppetry Conference, Cabaret & Performance Conference, and National Critics Institute. The National Theater Institute provides theater training, while the Young Playwrights Festival supports new writing by young people.

Beyond its development and educational programs, the O’Neill connects with the public through performances, special events, and community partnerships. The organization also offers campus facilities for wedding and event rentals and provides opportunities to participate through membership, donations, and volunteering or employment. Visitors can explore its campus and learn about Monte Cristo Cottage, while supporters can follow news, apply to programs, or join the mailing list.
