## Description

The Padel Squad is a UK initiative bringing padel to independent schools and universities through a campus-focused network of facilities. It aims to expand access to the fast-growing racquet sport while helping address the country’s shortage of courts. The organisation works with schools, universities, investors, industry partners, players, coaches and local communities, coordinating the expertise needed to develop and operate campus facilities.

Its model is designed to remove financial and operational barriers for institutions. The Padel Squad says it covers the capital expenditure and operating costs of facilities, while schools or universities provide land through a 25-year lease and agree to a shared timetable. Pupils and students can play free during institutional hours; at other times, courts may serve staff, families, alumni and the wider community.

The organisation describes three specialist groups: the Campus Squad, supporting institutional stakeholders; the Commercial Squad, helping fund and deliver facilities; and the Sport Squad, connecting players, coaches and community participants. Its work spans research, fundraising, planning, design, construction, safeguarding, coaching and programme coordination.
