The Quad Manhattan is committed to providing inclusive programs for twice-exceptional (2e) children. In line with their dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, The Quad recently welcomed consultant Erica Corbin for a series of workshops focused on anti-racism work. The staff, under the guidance of Corbin, explored ways to enhance teaching practices and analyze curriculum and culture through an anti-racist lens.

The goal is to foster anti-racism within The Quad community, as well as develop a deeper understanding of how social justice intersects with their professional roles and relationships with students, families, and colleagues. The workshops provided a foundation for curriculum-driven meetings and supervision for the summer. Moreover, the sessions allowed staff members to deconstruct current lesson plans, incorporate anti-racist themes and language into their practice, and identify areas of growth.

The program has also formed subcommittees to assess and improve various aspects of programming. With this renewed commitment, The Quad Manhattan continues to create an inclusive and empowering environment for 2e children
