# The Rebel Pavilion - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `therebelpavilion.org` ## Description The Rebel Pavilion is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in LaPorte County, Indiana, created in memory of Hanna Helen Ohlund. Hanna loved her family, her work as a hair stylist and educator, 4-H Horse & Pony, the LaPorte County Fair, and her pony, Rebel. After Hanna’s death in 2013, her family and community turned their support into a project to improve the Horse & Pony area at the LaPorte County Fairgrounds. The pavilion was built in 2015, followed by new bathrooms and a concession area, which opened in 2016. Today, a volunteer committee raises funds to strengthen youth equestrian programs and improve the fairgrounds’ equestrian facilities. Fundraising proceeds support youth equine activities, advanced education, specialty clinics, and youth equestrian clubs, as well as ongoing facility improvements. The organization’s work honors Hanna and the memories made with her and Rebel at the fairgrounds.
