Description

The Tank, founded in 2003, is a dynamic multi-disciplinary non-profit arts presenter and producer located in New York, NY. It serves as a home to emerging artists across various disciplines, including theater, comedy, dance, film, music, puppetry, and storytelling. Led by Artistic Director Meghan Finn and Managing Producer Danielle Monica Long King, The Tank is dedicated to supporting and championing emerging artists in their pursuit of new ideas and forms of expression.


At its two-theater home on 36th Street, The Tank hosts over 1,000 performances annually, engaging with more than 2,500 artists and attracting an audience of 36,000 people. The company is committed to removing economic barriers, enabling artists to create new work and experiment within their respective art forms. The Tank fully produces a curated season of 13-18 theatrical premieres each year, including recent critically acclaimed productions like Taxilandia by Flako Jimenez and OPEN by Crystal Skillman.


Notable artists who have been associated with The Tank include Alex Timbers, Amy Herzog, Lucy Alibar, Kyle Jarrow, Reggie Watts, Kyle Abraham, Andrew Bujalski, We Are Scientists, and many others. The Tank's mission is to create an inclusive and accessible environment for emerging artists, offering resources, community, and stability to lower the economic burden in art-making.
