## Description

The Venture is a community-based children, young people and family organisation in Caia Park, Wrexham, Wales. Established in 1978, it began with local young people helping to build an adventure playground and has since developed into a broad network of services focused on supporting children and families. Its mission is to help every child achieve their full potential, while keeping playwork and strong ties to the local community at the heart of its approach.

The organisation offers early years provision, including a Flying Start Early Years Centre and Integrated Children’s Centre services, alongside open-access adventure play and playwork. Its wider activities include health and mental health support, education, youth work, volunteer learning, arts and crafts, sport, community events, a community café and environmental improvements. The Venture also provides training and works with families affected by substance misuse. Its model has been adopted in Wales, Scotland and England for different aspects of children’s and family services.
