## Description

The Visual Conference is a Nigerian non-profit initiative and creative platform dedicated to empowering and inspiring photographers, art lovers, and other emerging creatives. Founded by photographer Idara Adiakpan, the conference brings people together to share experiences, build professional connections, and learn through mentorship and expert-led panel discussions. Its accompanying awards recognize outstanding photographic talent across multiple categories, celebrating creativity, skill, and diverse perspectives.

The organization aims to support the development of the photography industry and contribute to the wider economic and human-capital growth of creatives. Its activities include professional-development sessions, mentorship, and opportunities for emerging and local photographers to exhibit their work and gain community recognition. By showcasing different photographic styles and cultural narratives, The Visual Conference also promotes inclusion and creative exchange.

The platform features event galleries, a conference and awards program, and opportunities to participate through exhibition registration, volunteering, and nominations. Its 2026 conference is scheduled for October 8–9, continuing an initiative designed to connect and encourage photographers at different stages of their careers.
