## Description

The Walleye Derby is a Lake Erie fishing tournament built by anglers to give more people the chance to pursue trophy walleye and compete for substantial prizes. Held each fall from October 16 through November 29, the six-week event lets participants fish when conditions are right, rather than limiting competition to a single weekend. Registered anglers may fish anywhere in the U.S. waters of Lake Erie and compete from shore, a kayak, or a boat. Registration costs $40 per angler, regardless of age, gender, or fishing style.

The tournament offers more than $300,000 in boat value and over $100,000 in cash and prizes. First- and second-place anglers can choose between two featured boat prizes, with a $100,000 cash-out option available to each. Additional prizes and side pots recognize Veterans, women, kids, shore anglers, and kayak anglers. The Walleye Derby also offers sponsorship opportunities for businesses seeking to reach anglers, boat owners, outdoor enthusiasts, and families. Its welcoming format is designed for first-time participants, experienced competitors, and fishing communities alike.
