## Description

The Weston Foundation is a private nonprofit organization established in 2007 to support the arts and strengthen communities, with particular concern for vulnerable and underserved people. Its small governing board researches and selects institutions and projects for annual grants, allowing the foundation to give focused attention to efforts that may be overlooked by larger funders. Grants have supported a range of locally and internationally relevant work, including leadership scholarships through the Posse Foundation, the Art Institute of Chicago’s work with art and education, and JourneyCare’s commitment to providing hospice care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. Other featured initiatives include a summer robotics camp, sea turtle conservation, engineering projects, and medical training. The foundation’s grant program is invitation-only and does not accept unsolicited proposals. Its website shares information about its mission, recent grants, recipient organizations, news, and application process, and serves as a record of projects supported over the years. The Weston Foundation does not request payments from grant recipients.
