## Description

**Brand Description: Thing Sites International**

Thing Sites International delves into the rich heritage of ancient assemblies, known as "Things," which were pivotal to Viking and early Norse societies. These sites served as crucial meeting places where political decisions were made, laws upheld, and disputes settled, fostering community cohesion and civic engagement. Focused on the Viking sea routes from Norway to regions including Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Shetland, Orkney, the Highlands of Scotland, and the Isle of Man, our platform provides a comprehensive exploration of these historical sites and their legacies.

Through engaging profiles, maps, and articles, visitors can discover the significance of each Thing site, including iconic locations like Tinganes in the Faroe Islands, the Isle of Man's Tynwald Hill, and others that shaped early democratic practices. In collaboration with the EU Northern Periphery Programme, we not only honor these legacies but also promote modern cultural exchange through initiatives like the Thing Sites GeoTour, combining history with contemporary exploration for a broader audience.
