# Thomas’s Fund - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `thomassfund.org` ## Description Thomas’s Fund is a Northamptonshire charity providing music therapy for children and young people aged 0–19 who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and/or disabilities, and who are unable to attend school or early-years settings for extended periods for medical reasons. Founded in 2007 and established as a charity in 2008, it was inspired by Thomas Smith, whose experience showed how valuable music therapy can be for children who are too unwell to access support outside the home. The charity now offers sessions at home, in local children’s hospital wards, including Kettering NICU, and in relevant early-years settings. It also provided online therapy and resources to families during the pandemic. Led by a small team that includes HCPC-registered music therapists and volunteers, Thomas’s Fund uses instruments, sounds and voice to support expression, communication and interaction, while helping reduce anxiety and encourage relaxation.
