## Description

THRiVE Basketball Academy is a Winnipeg-based basketball development organisation helping athletes grow across Mind, Body and Skill. Its approach is development-first, combining structured coaching with individual evaluation rather than relying on unplanned drills or promises of results. Each athlete begins with a Development Evaluation that identifies strengths, priorities and practical next steps. The assessment is intended to guide development, not serve as a tryout.

THRiVE’s training builds on evaluation findings through purposeful practice, small-group coaching and individual feedback. Two-hour sessions cost $60 and accommodate six to ten athletes. Training may focus on ball handling, passing, shooting, finishing, footwork, defence, movement, decision-making, confidence and applying skills in games. The academy also reviews athlete progress at meaningful milestones through Development Reviews.

Its coaching framework considers focus, coachability, communication, basketball IQ and confidence, alongside physical readiness, balance, coordination and control. For athletes seeking a competitive team opportunity, THRiVE offers a connection to EDGE ELiTE, described as a complementary path to its individual development work.
