## Description

Thrive Centre is a homestead and learning initiative in Hogsback, in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, focused on regeneration, practical skills and greater self-reliance. Set in the Amathole Mountains, it invites visitors to explore its gardens and forest and learn about composting, growing and harvesting food, preserving and cooking. Visits are by arrangement, with guests asked to call ahead.

Thrive’s free online Academy extends this work through practical learning on land, seasons, food and craft, alongside history exploring how older ways of knowing have been changed or marginalised. The Centre also offers Praxis, its regenerative approach to land and industry, with services including land restoration and industrial and mining advisory. In-person retreats and workshops provide further opportunities to learn at the homestead.

Founded by Dianne and Bevan, Thrive brings together experience in permaculture, biodynamics and natural farming with a background in mining and commodity markets. Its work centres on caring for soil, people and the elements.
