Tristan Hume is a tech enthusiast with a passion for high-performance systems, compilers, and machine learning. Currently working at Anthropic in San Francisco on ML interpretability research, he previously designed and implemented the Magic-trace performance analysis tool for Jane Street, which has been a huge success. In addition to his professional work, Tristan has built a path tracer called Yūbinkyoku, a syntax highlighting library called Syntect, and a working keyboard, PolyType, among others. His diverse interests also extend to developing web apps for data exploration, writing long articles on algorithms, and creating illustrations of his learning journey. Tristan's recent projects include building ergonomic workstations, engaging in reverse engineering for CTF contests, and conducting latency testing for remote browsing.
