## Description

Tiba Foundation is a nonprofit organization that partners with local groups to build healthier, more resilient communities in rural Kenya. Its work addresses limited access to affordable, quality healthcare, including shortages of medical professionals and the distance many residents must travel to reach hospitals. Tiba uses a hub-and-spoke approach to connect well-resourced hospitals with remote health facilities, supports telehealth referrals for specialist care, and coordinates group purchasing of essential medicines. Its initiatives also tackle transportation barriers through the Boda Girls, who help deliver healthcare services and supplies.

The foundation focuses on four areas: quality healthcare, female empowerment, education, and innovative technology. Its programs support medical infrastructure and care, create opportunities for women and girls in health, education and entrepreneurship, and help develop medical professionals to serve rural communities. Tiba also applies technology to extend care to people far from well-resourced facilities. The organization invites individuals to volunteer, donate, subscribe to its newsletter, and follow its updates.
