## Description

Tissarin Sukuseura ry is a Finnish family association founded in 1981 to investigate the history and experiences of the Tissari family, preserve its traditions, and strengthen connections among relatives. Its website helps family members stay in touch, learn about one another, and take part in genealogical research. The association shares information on the family’s roots and history, individual family members, and Tissari soldiers, alongside news, photographs, and guidance for people researching their ancestry. Its research traces the family to Matti Tissari, who lived in Kangasniemi in the mid-16th century, identified as the family’s ancestral home. Tissarin Sukuseura has also contributed to family books, including a two-part publication on Tissaris in North Savo. Members and other relatives can find information about joining, association activities, family gatherings, and research resources, including DNA research. The association’s work brings together historical records, publications, and opportunities for relatives to meet and explore their shared heritage.
