## Description

Tokyo Institute of Technology, known as Tokyo Tech, was a leading Japanese institution for science, engineering, and technology. In October 2024, it merged with Tokyo Medical and Dental University to form Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo); the former Tokyo Tech website now provides information that is being progressively transferred to the new university’s site. Its academic community spans the School of Science, School of Engineering, School of Materials and Chemical Technology, School of Computing, School of Life Science and Technology, School of Environment and Society, and the Institute for Liberal Arts. The university’s work brings together education, research, social engagement, and international exchange, serving prospective undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, companies, alumni, current students, and staff. Its research covers areas including fusion technology, cell biology, augmented-reality safety systems, carbon dioxide conversion, and links between gut microbes and colorectal cancer. The institution also supports industry collaboration and shares research news, events, awards, educational information, and future-oriented initiatives, including the Future Society Design Research Center.
