## Description

Tjølling Historielag is a local history society dedicated to strengthening and developing interest in the history of Tjølling. Founded in 1950, it has more than 400 members and shares historical events, research and materials through its website, publications, collections and community activities. Its historical collections are based at the former vicarage, where visitors can explore documents, photographs, films, maps, objects and local books. The society also publishes Tjølling-minner, a series featuring local stories and images; the ninth issue contains 130 pages. Copies are available from selected local retailers and at the vicarage, alongside earlier issues and a complete set of the first nine editions. Tjølling Historielag organizes talks, meetings and informal Thursday café sessions on subjects connected with the area’s people, landscape, agriculture, culture and past. It also sends news and activity updates by email newsletter. Membership costs 200 Norwegian kroner, and members can buy one copy of the latest Tjølling-minner at a reduced price.
