## Description

The King’s College was a Christian liberal arts college based in New York City, founded in 1938. Guided by Christian beliefs and a biblical worldview, it aimed to prepare students to contribute to and lead influential public and private institutions. Its academic approach featured a core curriculum in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, alongside majors and minors, study-abroad opportunities, online learning, and dual-enrollment options. The college also offered student services and community programs, including financial aid and scholarships, career development, a library, student-success support, Christian formation, athletics, and student organizations. Its faculty sought to engage public conversations through writing and speaking on important cultural issues. The King’s College suspended educational offerings in 2023 and, after efforts to identify a strategic partner did not secure the support needed to resume operations, announced it would close permanently. The New York State Regents approved its dissolution in November 2025. The college’s Board has sought court approval to transfer certain endowment and donor-restricted funds to other nonprofit higher-education institutions.
