## Description

The Tanzania Mercantile Exchange PLC (TMX) is a pioneering commodity exchange that opened its doors in 2018, establishing itself as the first of its kind in Tanzania. TMX serves as an essential marketplace, connecting farmers, traders, exporters, and other market participants to a local and global audience, allowing them to buy and sell commodities at fair prices. The Exchange facilitates organized trading by providing a reliable platform where buyers and sellers can engage with assurances concerning quality, quantity, payment, and delivery.

TMX's mission goes beyond mere transactions; it aims to empower Tanzanian farmers to make informed decisions about their cropping patterns based on market insights, ultimately transitioning Tanzania from a low productivity agricultural economy to a semi-industrialized one by 2025. With an array of services, including market data, guidelines for trade sessions, and annual reports, TMX enhances market access and fosters economic growth for all stakeholders involved in the agricultural sector.
