## Description

Tirupati Nature Society (TNS) is a citizen-led conservation network dedicated to protecting the natural heritage and biodiversity of the Tirupati region, including the Seshachalam Biosphere. It works with institutions, local communities, forest departments, campuses, and citizen scientists to support conservation through research, education, and public participation.

TNS offers nature walks and birdwatching trails, giving participants opportunities to discover local and migratory species. Its ecological surveys document plants, butterflies, reptiles, mammals, and birds, while citizen-science initiatives help build a record of the region’s wildlife. The society also supports campus-based ecological learning, research into topics such as bioacoustics and urbanization, and biodiversity awareness programs. Its activities include global nature celebrations, clean-up drives, community engagement, and cross-campus conservation projects. TNS invites people to contribute through membership, volunteering, events, and donations. Collaborative efforts associated with the society have helped document more than 114,000 iNaturalist observations, over 22,000 eBird checklists, and 338 bird species, highlighting the Seshachalam Hills’ rich biodiversity.
