## Description

Tamil Nadu Wilderness Experiences Corporation (TNWEC) is a Government of Tamil Nadu enterprise established in 2021 to promote and develop ecotourism projects across the state. Based in Chennai, it serves as the government’s Special Purpose Vehicle for ecotourism, with an emphasis on sustainable, experiential travel and responsible exploration of natural environments.

TNWEC’s initiatives combine outdoor experiences with conservation, nature education and local livelihood improvement. Trek Tamil Nadu invites visitors to explore the state’s wilderness through 124 identified forest trails. At Muthupet, visitors can experience the coastal backwater ecosystem through a mangrove trail, electric-vehicle boating and bird watching. Camp Sethumadai offers a tented stay in a mountain setting, with activities developed in partnership with stargazing experts. The corporation also supports the Environment Education Programme, which promotes environmental awareness and sustainability.
