## Description

Tohoku Food Marathon is an annual spring event held in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture, that celebrates the spirit of fun running. This marathon is not just about the race; participants, whether they are avid runners or casual enthusiasts, can enjoy a vibrant festival atmosphere while running through the stunning rural landscapes of Tohoku. Attendees have the unique opportunity to taste regional delicacies and sample local sake's brewing water along the course. Collaborating with the famous Medoc Marathon in France, Tohoku Food Marathon aims to showcase Tohoku’s culinary delights and sake globally. Alongside the marathon, the Tohoku Food Festival features local food stalls, and the Tohoku Sake Festival invites brewers to gather, enhancing the festive experience. With additional initiatives like the Tohoku Tourism tours that explore recovery efforts, the event fosters community spirit among runners, volunteers, and local residents. Recognized with multiple awards for its innovative approach, the Tohoku Food Marathon & Festival aspires to be a cornerstone in promoting Tohoku's revitalization and charm to the world.
