## Description

Tokinaru is a wood-focused play and learning space in Fukui, Japan, created to help children grow through imaginative play. Opened in April 2018, the facility invites children and their families to explore wooden toys without fixed rules, encouraging creativity and shared discovery. Its spaces include an area where babies can crawl freely and settings for imaginative role-play, bringing children and people of different generations together through play.

Visitors can explore the play floors, learn about the toys and the facility’s approach to play-based learning, and make use of childcare amenities. Tokinaru also operates a toy shop featuring a selection of toys chosen from Japan and abroad, with an online shop available as well. The facility welcomes individual visitors and groups, and offers events and information for families. Its play floors and shop have separate opening hours, and admission is charged for children and adults. Located in central Fukui, Tokinaru presents wooden play as a way to nurture children’s curiosity and strengthen communication within families.
