## Description

Sometimes to Repent is the official website for a Japanese feature film directed and co-written by Tetsuya Nakashima, known for Confessions and Kamikaze Girls. Based on Bunzo Uchiumi’s mystery novel, the film follows independent detective Mitsuo Satake and trainee assistant Satoko Nakano as they investigate the murder of a former detective. Their inquiry leads to a nine-year-old kidnapping case and a boy with significant disabilities, whose life profoundly affects adults confronting grief, guilt, loneliness, and family conflict. The film stars Hidetoshi Nishijima, Hikari Mitsushima, Haru Kuroki, Kankuro Kudo, Ko Shibasaki, Jiro Sato, and Koji Yakusho. Its story explores disability, caregiving, parenthood, remorse, and the possibility of hope and human connection amid difficult realities. The official site provides film information, a story synopsis, character and cast profiles, background on the original author and production team, and director commentary. It also features promotional videos, including trailers, television commercials, and special footage, alongside theater and media information. The film is distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment (Japan).
