# The Tolman Collection - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `tolmantokyo.com` ## Description The Tolman Collection is a renowned brand that has been in operation for over 50 years. Specializing in contemporary Japanese graphic artists, we proudly represent approximately 50 talented artists. Our expertise lies in the sales, framing, installation, appraisal, and consulting services for modern Japanese prints and paintings. With a strong track record of participating in international art fairs, we have gained recognition both locally and globally. Under the leadership of our CEO, Norman H. Tolman, we offer a wide range of artistic services to our valued customers. Located in Tokyo, Japan with a branch office in New York City, our company is licensed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Public Safety Commission. As a founding member of The Tolman Collection, Norman H. Tolman's impressive background as a former United States diplomat has paved the way for our success. We take pride in fostering close relationships with our artists, ensuring a comprehensive and satisfying experience for our clients. Our gallery initially started in a residential house in Suginami-ku, Tokyo, where we prioritized customer hospitality. Today, we continue to expand our reach, organizing regular exhibitions not only in Japan but also in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Melbourne, Paris, and across the United States. We have become synonymous with contemporary Japanese prints, and our name is widely recognized in the art world. Additionally, we have collaborated with international galleries to organize special exhibitions, including those held in Hong Kong, Melbourne, and even as far as Kazakhstan. Our dedication to supporting the arts extends to donations made to prestigious institutions like Yale University, Smith College, Maryland University, the Smithsonian Institute, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. We have also successfully curated and hosted exhibitions at the venerable Hara Museum of Contemporary Art, where we borrowed works from the imperial family and showcased the masterpieces of Tohaku Shinoda. As a publisher, we offer a diverse range of unique editions that are exclusively produced for The Tolman Collection. Through partnerships with individuals, galleries, and museums, we continue to supply our artworks both domestically and internationally. We also produce and curate exhibitions worldwide, ensuring that Japanese art reaches a global audience. Sign up for our newsletter to stay updated on all our latest news and events.
