## Description

Toma Unrestored is a unique cultural initiative based in Nara, Japan, dedicated to the restoration and revitalization of an Edo-era traditional house. Before 2017, this historic building was neglected and on the brink of collapse. Recognizing its potential, Toma Unrestored began hosting small exhibitions and events that transformed the site into a vibrant hub for artistic and cultural expression. The fascinating “unrestored” nature of the house attracts visitors from diverse backgrounds, including the charming Nara deer.

Through collaborative efforts with like-minded artists and creators, Toma Unrestored fosters an inclusive environment that encourages meaningful interactions and creative dialogue. The project aims to dismantle conventional barriers, allowing art to flourish free from prejudice. Visitors can experience a dynamic blend of history, creativity, and community engagement, making Toma Unrestored a vital cultural landmark in Nara.
