## Description

Tombot is a company that aims to enhance the quality of life for seniors who face challenges in being social. They have developed a robotic companion dog that behaves and responds like a real pup, without the responsibilities of caring for a living, breathing animal. To create this lifelike robotic dog, Tombot enlisted the help of the talented team at Jim Henson's Creature Shop, known for their expertise in creating realistic animatronic animals. Although robots are not yet capable of fully replacing human interaction, robotic animals offer a different story. Companies like Sony have released robotic pets that effectively provide some interactions and companionship. Tombot's robo-dog, designed with input from experts in animation and animatronics, not only looks like a real dog but also moves like one, making it even more convincing and engaging. Tombot is currently running a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to bring their robo-dog to consumers. While there are risks and challenges associated with production, Tombot has already reached its funding goal. The company aims to deliver the robo-dog to backers by August 2020. These robotic companions have the potential to provide comfort and companionship to seniors, filling the void left by a lack of caregivers in nursing homes and long-term care facilities. With its affordable pricing and soothing nature, Tombot's robo-dog holds promise in improving the lives of those in need.
